Everything you need to know before booking your Chengdu Holiday

All year round are good to travel to Chengdu. Please be noted of the busy/possible crowded seasons of China Holidays including 1st week of May and 1st week of Oct and the usually busy July and August; Summer (June to September)will see temeprature between 20C and 30C, winter (Dec to Feb) will see temperature between 5C and 10C.

The classic highlights of Chengdu including Chengdu Panda Base, Jinli Street and Wuhou Shrine, Kuanzhai Alley, People's Park, Wenshu Monastery, Jinsha Museum, Taikooli and Chunxi Street.

The following places of interests are worth to see but are located outside of downtown Chengdu with driving of 1-3 hours: Dujiangyan Irrigation Park, Leshan Buddha, Mt. Emei, Qingcheng Mountain, Sanxingdui Museum.

The following places of interest are far from Chengdu and normally will require multi-days time of planning: Jiuzhaigou, Bipenggou, Siguniang, Danba, Tagong, Daocheng Yading, Minya Konka, Xinduqiao, Kangding, Hailuogou, Derge and beyond.

1-2 days for short stay, 3-5 days for longer stay, more than 5 days if you plan to go to West Sichuan. Panda Base takes half day, Leshan Buddha takes a full day, Mt. Emei takes up to 2 days, Dujiangyan takes 1 day. Jiuzhaigou takes 3 days, Tagong and Kangding takes 5-9 days.

It is easy to get around Chengdu and its neighboring place such as Dujiangyan, Emei, Leshan Buddha. But if you wish to travel further into the mountains to places such as Jiuzhaigou, Bipenggou, Siguniang, Danba, Tagong, Daocheng Yading, Minya Konka, Xinduqiao, Kangding, Hailuogou, then you'll need to plan for more days due to the long drive.
