Jiuzhai (Baihe) Golden Snub-nosed Monkey Valley, short for Jiuzhai Golden Monkey Valley is a nature park featured with Golden Snub-nosed Monkeys for visitors to watch. The monkeys are not kept in captive but rather in nature and made easy to watch for visitors. The whole area has total around 1700+ Golden Snub-nosed Monkeys while in this park visitors can see total around 100+ monkeys at the moment.

Jiuzhai Golden Monkey Valley is located in Jiuzhaigou County of Aba Prefecture, 15km west to the town of Jiuzhaigou County and by driving from Chengdu it takes total around 6 hours total. One can also get to this place by flying to Jiuzhai Airport and then take a 3 hours drive to this place. By fast train is also possible from Chengdu via a 2.5h fast train and then 3.5h drive to the Golden Monkey Valley. You are recommended to drive there for better planning/connecting to your visits to Tangjiahe Nature Reserve, Wanglang Nature Reserve and Laohegou Nature Reserve, places that are good for wildlife watching.
The best seasons for watching Golden Snub-nosed Monkeys is from April to November. From 01 December to the next 31 March the park will be closed. This place is newly opened in October 2025.

This place is part of the Baihe Nature Reserve, a reserve that is largely closed to any visitors. All monkeys here are fed indeed in order to be kept closer to the sighting spots. It is still worth to come to watch them and take photography of Golden Snub-nosed Monkeys.
As part of the Baihe Nature Reserve there are also other wildlife including Golden Pheasants, Chinese Monal, etc.

You may consider to include visits to Jiuhaigou Park too since it’s just 1 hour drive away from Golden Monkey Valley.
If you are on your mammal/wildlife-watching trip in Sichuan then you may consider to include a visit here since it’s not far from Tangjiahe Nature Reserve and Wanglang Nature Reserve: only about 2-3 hours drive away and its location is between Tangjiahe and Zoige: you’ll pass by there anyway if you also go to Zoige. The best season is from November to the next April. Other seasons may also work.
