Gonggashan (Minya Konka) and Tagong (Mt. Yala) Photo Spot: Marka (Manyika) Road Pass

Marka(Manyika) Pass is one of the furthest photo spots of Minya Konka Mountains from the west side. It is located at a mountain top between Xinduqiao and Tagong that one can see the whole range of Minya Konka West as well as the peak of Mt. Yala and Mt. Yamu. The location is at the elevation of around 4200m above sea level.

Location and Getting There

Marka Pass(Manyika) Photo Spot is located 30km north to Xinduqiao and by driving it takes around 60 minutes to get to. This place is also accessible from Tagong by driving for around 25km. The photo spot is accessible by normal cars. Road is paved but old. There are multiple stopping places by the top of Marka.

Travel Season

Marka is open to visitors from May to October. Although the road may be shut off due to multiple reasons in any season. We have seen the checkpoint people asking for bribing from visitors in order to let them through. At present (2025 summer) this place doesn’t allow any visitors go up but sometimes bribing works and can go up.

Suggestions and Planning

The direct distance to Minya Konka Range from Marka is around 70km. Recommend to use a professional camera for better photos. Flying drone is allowed in Marka. Sunset time is usually between 7pm and 8:15pm. Marka is a very good place to see Mt. Yala and Mt. Yamu although these two mountains are easily seen from anywhere in Tagong. There is no lodge of hotel by Marka. Camping is allowed here.

Ticket Information

Til 2025 summer no ticket is allowed to enter Marka but bribing costs around CNY50 per person to get in.
