Jiagenba Sky Garden (Kongzhong Huayuan) is one of the most popular photo spots of Minya Konka Mountains from the west side. It is located at a mountain ridge near the village of Jiagenba by Riche Village. The biggest difference of this spot than other photo places is it provides forest views on the lower mountains in front of the Minya Konka Range. From its top one can see a large part of Minya Konka mountains West Face. The location is at the elevation of around 4200m above sea level.
Jiagenba Sky Garden(Kongzhong Huayuan) Photo Spot is located 45km south to Xinduqiao and by driving it takes around 60 minutes to get to if no traffic. You are recommended to start early than usual if you are traveling in busy seasons including summer and autumn. The photo spot is accessible by only 4X4 cars because the road up to the spot is unpaved and hard to drive.
Jiagenba Sky Garden is open to visitors from May to October. The best seasons are from June to October. The busy season is July, August and October. In summer you have 50% chance of seeing foggy weather but the mountains are green. In autumn the chance of clear days are higher.
The direct distance to Minya Konka Range from Yuzixi is around 25km (40km to the highest peak Mt. Gongga). Using phone cameras can get very good photos of the mountains. Flying drone is allowed in Sky Garden. Sunset time is usually between 7pm and 8:15pm. You will see other people there sometimes a lot of people but it’s an open place and you can usually find spots for good photos. We suggest you to plan for at least 1.5h driving up this place from Xinduqiao given the possibility of traffic jam.
There is no hotel by this location and camping is not allowed here. There are plenty lodges available by the villages below and in the big village Jiagenba.
