Gedilamu is one of the popular photo spots of Minya Konka Mountains from the west side. It is located at a mountain top near Kangding Airport that one can see the whole range of Minya Konka West as well as the peak of Mt. Yala and Mt. Yamu. This location is at the elevation of around 4200m above sea level and is located just next to Yuzixi. The view is largely the same from Yuzixi and from Gedilamu. Both places run by different villages. If you go to one then no need to go to the other.

Gedilamu Photo Spot is located 36km north to Xinduqiao and by driving it takes around 50 minutes to get to if no traffic. During busy season you often see traffic jams on the small road up to Gedilam. It uses a different road up to the photo spot and the bad road is shorter than that of Yuzixi. You are recommended to start early than usual if you are traveling in busy seasons including summer and autumn because some cars may struggle getting up to the top on the bad road. The photo spot is better accessed by 4X4 cars if possible because the last part of the road is unpaved.
Gedilamu is open to visitors all year round. The best seasons are from June to November. The busy season is July, August and October. In summer you have 50% chance of seeing foggy weather but the mountains are green. In autumn and winter the chance of clear days are higher but the mountains are not green(March to early May). Spring may see more snow than winter and other seasons.

The direct distance to Minya Konka Range from Gedilamu is around 60km (70km to the highest peak Mt. Gongga). Using phone cameras can get good photos of the mountains and views but recommend to use a professional camera for better photos. Flying drone is allowed in Gedilamu. Sunset time is usually between 7pm and 8:15pm. You will see other people there sometimes a lot of people but it’s an open place and you can usually find spots for good photos. We suggest you to plan for at least 1.5h driving up this place given the high possibility of traffic jam. And please expect traffic jams on the way back during busy seasons due to the small roads.
There is no hotel by Gedilamu.
Per person CNY30 to get in to Yuzixi. No other costs from the place except the ticket.
