Xinlong Hongshan Park (official name: Xinlong Hongshan Tourist Scenic Area) is located in Xinlong neighboring Ganzi County near the Ganbai Road route and G317. It is a very unique high-altitude Danxia landform in western Sichuan that was only established in recent years, and its scenery is quite spectacular.
Situated in Yinduo Township, Xinlong County, Garzê Prefecture, close to National Highway G317, about 55 kilometers from Garzê County town and approximately 32 kilometers from Gesar Airport. Because it is not far from Garzê County town. Even though it is part of Xinlong county but it’s more quickly to be accessed from Ganzi county.
The red mountain are is the highest-altitude and most extensive alpine Danxia landform in Tibet areas of China. The core area ranges from 4,200 to 5,000 meters in elevation, with over ten peaks exceeding 5,000 meters. The red rock formations juxtaposed with the snow-capped Mount Zhuodala create a unique "red mountain + silver mountain" spectacle. Its Tibetan name is Rongduobari, meaning "Pure Land," and it is revered by locals as a sacred mountain. The park officially opened in July 2023 and not many tourists go there.
