Yading Small Kora Trek

Please note Camping is not allowed by the park of Yading since 2024. Any camping trek needs to be done in a self-supported style and needs to go off the grid to avoid attention from authority. We don't recommend you to do camping treks against Yading Park regulation. You will be violating "Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Nature Reserves". The following info was written before 2024 but can still be useful.

Yading Small Kora Trek is a circuit trek around the mountain of Chenrezig, one of the holy mountains in Yading Nature Reserve. Local Tibetan people call the Kora "Zhuanshan" meaning to walk around the mountain.

Yading Small Kora starts from Chonggu Temple(3800m) and walk via Luruo Yak(4000m) Ranch and Milk Lake(4450m) over the pass of Songduo(4600m) and then to Resongtso Lake(4450m) then to the Pudeng Pass (4650m) and then drop down to Pearl Lake at 4100m and then to Chonggu Temple. The Yading Small Kora is total 26km. The first 7km from Chonggu to Luorong Yak Ranch can be replaced by a golf car ride in Yading Park. A fit hiker can do the Yading Kora Trek in one day starting early. To do Yading Small Kora Trek in one day is also recommended for strong and active travelers to save time and not missing everything.

A Kora in Tibetan culture is usually to be done in clockwise and not the other way round.

Another way to do Yading Small Kora is to start from Kasi Valley(2850m) and walk up the valley to Kasi Camp at 4450m and over the pass at Pudeng (4650m) and drop down to Pearl Lake (at 4150m) and then walk to Luorong Yak Ranch (7km can use the golf car) and then walk up to Milk Lake and then to Songuo Pass at 4600m then to Rsongtso and then drop down to Kasi Valley again.
