Day 01 Tagong Grassland Hiking: Monastery+Village

In the morning your guide will come to your hotel and pick you up and send to Anigongma by a short car ride. The drive usually takes around 10-15 minutes. Hiking starts by visits to the workshop of Mani Stones, Great Pile of Mani Stones, Nunnery and Muya Grand Temple. Anigongma is an authentic village of Khampa Tibetan people. It is a village built around the Nunnery. You will see lots of local people walking around the big mani stone pile as a way of worhipping Buddha. We will walk the village to see the temples and the village. After the visits, walk into the valley behind Muya Grand Temple and elevation rises gradually to over 4000 meters and set camp on the grassland by Sanyetso Lake at 4300 m or lower.

Remember to have a day pack with you each day to take necessary items for the day hiking, including packed lunch by yourself, drinking water recommended 1L minimum, sunglasses, rainproof, warm-keeping clothes and hat, sun block and lip oil, etc. Note the warm-clothing and rainproof (for both yourself and your pack) may not be used while hiking but since weather changes quickly and hard to predict in Tagong, it's wise to bring the water/rainproof items with you all the time.
