This is a Chuanzhusi-based tour you can add on while visiting Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong. Zoige Grassland and Flower Lake are one of the highlights and place of interest to see around Jiuzhaigou. The 9 Bends of Yellow River is also a beautiful sightseeing not to be missed if one has enough time. You will have chance to see the nomads people by Zoige Grassland, something the best of northern Sichuan. This tour is a ground tour and involves long hours of driving.
Book NowThis is an add-on tour from Jiuzhaigou. For travelers who wish to stay longer or want to explore more around Jiuzhaigu this is the best option available as 2 extra days to visit the nomads Tibetan on Zoige Grassland, a completely different landscape as that of Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong.
This tour tarts from either Jiuzhaigou or Chuanzhusi for around 3-4 hours driving over Galitai Pass and onto Zoige Grassland, we will have our first glimpse of the vast rolling lands of grass where local nomads people herd yaks and sheeps. Arrive Zoige Flower Lake after having lunch by Zoige Town. The Flower Lake of Zoige is a large area of highland marsh located north to Zoige Town and is home to many birds and wild animals. In Summer time it is the best season when the marsh is green and full of flowers and life. The visit to the Flower Lake is around 2-3 hours overall. It involves using in park transfers. After the visit, drive back to Zoige for overnight. Zoige is in Amdo Tibet where local people are pious Buddhist and worshipping Buddha. A lot of local Zoige people are nomadic.
This is a gound tour. Some days involve long hours of driving and sitting in the car. Please make preparation in accordance including power bank for your phone, neck pillow, etc. Please remember to have a day pack with you to take necessary items for each day's visit, sometimes including packed lunch or snacks for yourself, drinking water recommended 1L minimum, sunglasses, rainproof, warm-keeping clothes and hat, sun block and lip oil, etc. It is also wise to bring rainproof and warm clothes with you all the time.

Zoige Flower Lake

Today we will start by a 1-hour drive to Tangke to the famous 9 Bends of Yellow River after breakfast by hotel in Zoige. Sichuan province is home to both Yellow River and Yangtze River, the longest two rivers in China. The 9 Bends of Yellow River is by the bordering area of Sichuan and Gansu Province. It is the upper part of Yellow River when it flows more calm and quietly. The bends are better viewed from high above the hill that one needs to walk for around 20 minutes to get to. The 9 Bends of Yellow River has been one of the most popular photographic locations in China. We will walk around the scenic spot and take photos. The total visiting time is around 2-3 hours with leisur. After the visit, have lunch by local restaurant before drive for around 3 hours back to Chuanzhusi. Along the way we have opportunities to stop to ride horse if available.

Please note because the flower lake closes during winter time so if traveling by winter season this tour will be changed into visits to Langmusi instead.

2. This tour involves visiting at high altitude (over 3000 meters), so precautions of mountain sickness are necessary. Precautions of mountain sickness include taking care of yourself by keeping yourself warm and hydrated all the time; do not stress yourself too much during the tour; have good rest by nights.
3. This tour is suited from May to October each year. November to the next April is usually dry and windy but it is still beautiful to visit. Flower Lake is sometimes closed in winter due to its dry season that not much water in the lakes. The best season to see the lake is from June to August.
4. Traveling to the listed places may expect usually lower standard services at hotels and restaurants even if they maybe the best choices of all. The service level may not be as good to what you have in places like Chengdu. The hotel people may not speak English nor do the people from restaurants. These places are usually considered quite far, wild but beautiful. As authenticity comes often with less comfortability. Public Toilet can be really bad. You are always recommended to use your toilet in your hotel. You are recommended to have toilet paper with you. Food is often with limited options at most of the places. Basically you can find Chinese Food with Sichuan style. On a guided trip you can have them customized into vegetarian or non/less spicy.
This tour involves walking at high altitude at over 3000m, people with cardiac-related conditions, cerebrovascular disease, hypertension, arrhythmia, respiratory diseases, obstructive pulmonary diseases (bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis, emphysema, active tuberculosis, pneumoconiosis), pregnant women and people who have been diagnosed with high altitude pulmonary edema, high altitude cerebral edema, high altitude hypertension, high altitude heart disease, and high altitude polycythemia are not recommended to do this trip.
