Two Naughty Giant Pandas “Escaped” from Base in Bifengxia Panda Base

February 22 is the traditional Yuanxiao Festival (Lantern Festival). While people are celebrating the festival, a strong snow attacked Ya’an, and caused vast collapse of bamboo forests and other trees in the Bifengxia Giant Panda Base. Two panda ladies, Zhuang Mei and Jun Zhu, climbed up the fallen tree on the panda house wall, and escaped to “celebrate” the Yuanxiao Festival.

At around 07:00 AM, February 22, Panda keepers checked the panda enclosure regularly. While coming to the house of Zhuang Mei and Junzhu, they found two hosts were not at home, and realized two pandas must had escaped. The panda base immediately organized a team to “arrest” the two escaped pandas.

Before long, good news were sent from the back door region and Panda Kindergarten that two pandas were found. While panda keepers were looking for their locations, Zhuang Mei was wondering leisurely on the road near the back door., and Jun Zhu was enjoy the beautiful snow views in the Panda Kindergarten. All peoples were released. Both Zhuang Mei and Jun Zhu were foodie, so the panda keepers tempted them with food to the cages, and escorted two naughty ladies to their enclosure.
