Which passengers can apply for VISA-ON-ARRIVAL?

1) Passengers who are temporarily invited to attend trade fairs in China.

2) Passengers who are invited to participate in bids or officially sigh trade contracts in China.

3) Passengers who shall inspect important merchandise or attend the contract acceptance audit in China as per contract.

4) Passengers who are invited to assist equipment installation or urgent repairs of projects.

5) Passengers who are invited to settle claim issues in China.

6) Passengers who are invited to provide scientific and technical consultation in China.

7) Passengers who are approved by Chinese hosts supplement or replace others, after visas for their delegation/ team to China were ready

8) Passengers who visit patients in critical conditions or handle funeral affairs.

9) Direct transit passengers who are unable to leave China via pre-arranged flied.

10) Passengers who are invited to China but do not have enough time to apply for visas by designated authority, with letters certifying approval for VISA-ON-ARRIVAL by designated authority.

Which Items are forbidden for entry?

1) According to [Notice on Inspection and Quarantine for Entry into China], the following items are prohibited for entry:
-Human blood and its products;
-Fruits, capsicum, eggplants and tomatoes;
-Animal cadavers and specimens;
-Soil;
-Animal pathogens, insects and other harmful organism;
-Alive animals (except pet dogs or cats) and animal’s genetic material, including semen, fertilized egg, embryo, etc;
-Eggs, pelts, horse bristles, hoofs, animal fat, meat (including organs) and their products;
-Fresh milk, cheese, butter, cream, whey powder, silkworm chrysalis, silkworm eggs;
-Animal blood and their products, aquatic animal products;
-Transgenic biological material;
-Dilapidated clothes;

2) According to China Customs, the following items are prohibited for entry:
-Weapons, imitative weapons, ammunitions and explosives;
-Counterfeit currencies and/or counterfeit marketable securities;
-Printed materials, films and negatives, photographs, records, movies, tapes, videos, laser discs and computer storage medias that are harmful to the politics, economy, culture and morals of China;
-Various poisonous substances;
-Opium, morphine, heroin, marijuana or other addictive drugs, psychotropic substances;
-Fresh fruits, vegetables of Solanaceae family, alive animals (with the exception of domesticated dogs and cats), animal products, pathogenic micro-organisms of animals and plants, pests and other harmful organisms;
-Carcasses, soil, genetically modified organisms, animals and plants, their products and other objects subject to quarantine from countries or regions with prevalent epidemic animal of plant diseases;
-Food, medication and/or others which are harmful to the health of human and animals from epidemic areas.

Which items are permitted for entry but must be declared for quarantine?

1) Seeds, nursery stock and other pro-genitive materials, tobacco, grains and beans (Qurantine inspection and approval procedures must be handled prior to entry);

2) Fresh flowers, cut-flowers and dried flowers;

3) Samples of vegetables, exhibits and specimens;

4) Dried fruits, dried vegetables, preserved vegetables and frozen vegetables;

5) Bamboo, rattan, willow, grass and wood products;

6) Pets such as domesticated dogs and cats (Each traveler Quarantine certificate to carry only one pet and holding a Hydrophobia Immunity Certificate and Quarantine Certificate issued by the departing country or local quarantine authority. The pet must be isolated 30 days for quarantine purpose at the place designated by China Inspection and Quarantine Authority after its entry);

7) Human blood and its products, micro organisms, human tissues and biological products those are specifically required for import;

8) If you have the above mentioned items with you, please contact China Inspection and Quarantine Authority on your own initiative for declaration and have them inspected.

The regulations for Entry Customs Declaration

The following items have to be declared for entry customs and the declaration form must be submitted to customs for articles entry procedures.

1) Animals and plants and their products, micro organisms, biological products, human tissue, human blood and their products;

2) Any item carried by Chinese residents that were obtained overseas with value that exceeds RMB5000 yuan;

3) Any item carried by non-resident passengers with value over RMB2000 yuan that is to remain in China;

4) Excess of 1500ml of alcoholic beverages (alcohol content above 12 degrees), 400 yuan cigarettes, 100 yuan cigars or 500 yuan grams of tobacco;

5) Cash more than 20000 yuan or any amount equivalent to USD5000;

6) Separated shipment of baggage, goods, samples of products, advertising products;

7) Other articles that are liable for declaration;
